STUDENT Sponsorship Programme (SSP) is inviting applications from Grade 6 pupils who have the potential to be developed into academically excellent and emotionally quotient future leaders.
Shortlisted applicants will undergo a character building selection process that is aimed at upskilling the pupils’ capabilities, as well as indicating their leadership and academic potential.
Successful pupils will be placed at some of South Africa’s top schools in East London, Johannesburg, Pretoria and Grahamstown.
Pupils are provided with comprehensive support throughout their five years of high school which includes pairing each pupil with a professional mentor in order for them to excel, get exposure and reach their potential.
SSP pupils proceed to serve in leadership positions at the schools – for example, head prefect at Pretoria High School for Girls Flourish Oluwamakinde and Class of 2021 Scholar at St Stithians Girls’ College who is one of the top-two pupils among the Grade 8s at Saints, Thando Zwane.
SSP graduates go on to attend prestigious universities in South Africa and abroad, such as Harvard, Amherst, Duke and Wellesley.
SSP alumni proceed to live the SSP values of excellence, commitment to public service and have developed into leaders in the various sectors of our economy as demonstrated by Maurice Madiba, an SSP Class of 2004 alumnus who recently launched his company on the JSE, as well as Lebo Moerane who leads an ITC company. They both continue to give back as mentors.
If you are highly motivated, driven to succeed and committed to leading with compassion, integrity, excellence and to impacting South Africa positively. Please apply before closing date on September 1 for the SSP Opportunity.
