FOR the second year, Bible Centred Ministries (BCM) International is hosting a three-day Children’s Ministry Conference later this month at the City Life Church in the Quigney.
Last year, 150 people attended and Pat Govender, who is the BCM East London representative, said many of them felt more equipped and appreciated the training they received.
“The teams that did the outreach on Sunday said that it was an enriching experience. They learnt so much about the children who live right in the next suburb. Other organisations and many of the delegates said that we must do the conference every year,” said Govender.
The conference is aimed at helping those who work with children in the ministry. It is to envision, equip, resource and mobilise people for children’s ministry.
“Our passion is to reach and disciple children here in the Eastern Cape and beyond. We need to work with children and help them live in the fullness that God intended for them as they live out God’s word on a daily basis. Over 80% of Christians come to know Christ between the ages of four and 14 years old,” she said.
The conference is made up of two main sessions with keynote speaker Andrew Sieberhagen from East London.
The conference is open to all churches in East London and beyond and is for anyone working with children, as well as for prospective workers, pastors, parents and anyone who is interested in reaching children with the Gospel.
The conference will be held over the weekend of January 20 to 22.
The cost is R70, which includes lunch, refreshments and training notes.
The event is from Friday 6pm-8pm, Saturday 7.30 for registration and ends at 4pm, and outreach opportunities for Sunday.
