THE C Club have decided to throw a big party and give back to the community at the same time by hosting Woofstock.
“We will be doing something very unique; there will be no cash entrance fee.
“The way to get in will be to bring packets or tins of dog food.
“We will then drop it all off at the SPCA. We are also hoping to raise awareness and have a great time while we are at it,” said Jason Gladwin, who will be performing at the show.
Gladwin, an East London singer/songwriter, will be joined on stage by his band as they set out to collect much-needed dog food for the struggling SPCA.
“I would just love the opportunity to give back and I literally think that I love animals more than humans, so the cause seemed fitting,” said a smiling Gladwin.
“I have a strong heart for animals and try to help as much as I can.
“I have two cats and am in the process of adopting a Boston Terrier in Jo’burg. My housemate will probably kill me when he finds out; let’s surprise him by telling him in the newspaper though,” he laughed.
Gladwin will be on stage with his band and is encouraging people to come out and “support the cause”, which he would like to make an annual event.
“We will be having a ‘Yappy Hour’ from 6pm, where we will have vodka slush ‘puppies’ on special,” he said.
The show will take place at the C Club tomorrow (February 24) at 8pm.
