Busy Bees Pre-School hosts cycle challenge

ALONG FOR THE RIDE: Take your children over to the Beaconhurst Park fields for a morning of bike fun in the Busy Bees Pre-School Cycle Challenge. Zoe Petersen had a blast taking part in the last Cycle Challenge

BEACON Bay-based Busy Bees Pre-School is hosting their annual cycle challenge this Saturday from 9am to 12 noon at Beaconhurst Park fields (Hillcrest Drive, Beacon Bay).

This family event consist of fun races for children aged two to 12 years – riding on their plastic motorbikes, push bikes or pedal bikes – and all are welcome to join in.

“We want to give young children the chance to participate in a cycle race in a safe and enjoyable environment. The field at Beaconhurst Park is perfect as they can ride safely on a wide grass track with space for all the other fun activities we’re planning,” owner and head of Busy Bees Pre-School Karien Bezuidenhout said.

There will be a range of fun activities for children (crafts, dino dig and a jumping castle), stalls, food available and a fantastic silent auction with items donated by a range of local businesses.

Money raised will be used for new equipment for their school, as well as for the educare in Ducats South that they support.

Ducats is an underprivileged area just outside Beacon Bay on the road to Stutterheim.

Entries are R60 per child (on Saturday) or R50 before 12pm tomorrow.

Find the entry form and further info at www.busybeespreschool.co.za, or facebook.com/busybeesbeaconbay or contact 073-232-4407.

All entrants must please bring their own push/pedal bike and helmet (no helmet, no ride!) and register between 9 and 10am.

The first race will be taking place at 10am.

Parents are welcome to walk/run alongside their young children when they take part.
