IN RECOGNITION for his performances in the MX circuit, Beaconhurst Primary School pupil, Jayden Bruce-Alexander has received a Yamaha YZ85 motocross motorcycle sponsored by TKY Power Products.
The East London company are local agents for Yamaha, specialising in repairing, servicing and selling motorcycles, boats and jetskis. Phillip Jones and Rowan De Vries, from TKY handed over Bruce-Alexander’s new motorcycle at Beaconhurst’s assembly on May 23.
Bruce-Alexander has been racing motocross for the past three years, starting out in the Junior Novice Class and coming out on top in his first year.
He then moved up to senior track, racing in the 65cc class and claiming 3rd overall for the year. Last year Bruce-Alexander took fourth place overall, winning the legendary Zane Howard Trophy.
For the past two years Bruce-Alexander has been selected to represent the Eastern Cape at the prestigious North vs South event which was last held at the Borc Tempe Track in Bloemfontein in 2016.
“I’ve been watching him race from the beginning and he has excelled. It’s crazy; he just flies on the track and he’s getting better and better. He has a real talent,” said Jones.
Bruce-Alexander, with his TKY sponsored Yamaha, will be racing in the pro mini 85 cc class this year and at 11 years old, is the youngest rider in his class.
