THE Out the Green Box Nite Series kicks off tomorrow at a new venue – Cafe du Jardin in the Floradale Centre.
According to race organiser Trystan Viaene, entries have been streaming in and the Won Adventure team are prepped and ready for the fourth season of the popular night-running series.
“It has been great to watch the series grow over the years and gain a reputable reputation among members of the East London community. Our focus has always been about creating fun, family events of the highest quality and we cannot be thankful enough for the support we continuously receive,” Won Adventure founder Bruce Viaene said.
The Nite Series will feature four events this year where runners will have the opportunity to explore Cafe du Jardin, 3 Silos Adventure Trails, Lavender Blue and the East London Golf Course at night.
All are welcome to cheer on their families and friends tomorrow night and enjoy the atmosphere at Cafe du Jardin.
Burgers, chips, soups, wines, beers and sangria will be available for purchase to ensure your Friday evening takes on a festive theme.
“I love the event for its family aspect. Watching dads and moms cross the line with one of their children on their shoulders is pretty epic,” Bruce said.
“But in the same breath, introducing the racing snakes to the environment of racing at night, and seeing faster and faster times as a result, has been great to see over the past four years.”
Pre-entries to the Out the Green Box Nite Series and the first event are closed.
However, those interested in entering for the entire series or Race 1 can do so between 1pm and 6pm at the Out the Green Box store today or between 4pm and 6pm at Cafe du Jardin tomorrow evening.
Pre-entered athletes can collect their goodie bag and race number from the Out the Green Box store between 1pm-6pm today (Thursday) or alternatively between 4-6pm tomorrow at Cafe du Jardin.
Race 1 of the Nite Series will commence at 6.30pm.
“We are extremely excited to welcome old and new faces to the first Out the Green Box Nite Series for 2017. There are incredible prizes up for grabs to those entrants who take on tomorrow’s run – featuring Falke socks, Out the Green Box hampers, Black Diamond torches and headlamps and more,” Trystan enthused.
