IN HONOUR of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, Masithethe Counselling Services will be hosting a five-day personal development and victim empowerment course.
The course will run from December 4 to 8 and participants will be guided through what abuse is and what their rights are.
Various self-esteem, values and communication exercises will also be part of the course.
The course will take place at the Masithethe Counselling Services’s premises at 3 St James Road, Southernwood from 9.30 am to 3.30pm.
“The course is open to anyone who has been a victim. All they have to do, is complete an application form and we asses them on this,” director Jackie Orsmond said.
The five-day personal development and victim empowerment course is one of the many programmes that Masithethe will be running throughout 16 Days of Activism.
Masithethe’s campaign will culminate in a Walk Against Abuse (WAA) on Friday December 8, starting from St Johns Anglican Church in Oxford Street.
