Boost for Chintsa school

AFRICAN Angels Independent School received a donation of R10000 from life insurance company MiWayLife recently, as part of its the #MiFuture Campaign.

The Chintsa East-based school was one of the three schools in South Africa which were selected in part of the upliftment campaign. to be part of the uplifting of the community campaign.

Louise Billet, the school’s founder, said African Angels was is a non-profit organisation that was established in 2012. It provides good- quality education to some of the most economically, socially and previously disadvantaged children in the country.

“The school currently has more than over 130 pupils enrolled from grade R to grade 7Seven, all of whom are from financially disadvantaged backgrounds and many of whom which are orphans,” she said.

“By grade 3, children in the poorest 60% of schools are already behind by three years worth of learning compared with their wealthier peers, and by grade 9 it escalates to five years.

“We are delighted and very grateful for what MiWay did for us and we are happy that they recognised the work we do at our school.”

Billet said MiWay they was are planning to support the school’s education system, and to improve its facilities. at the school, and to improve the facilities of the school.

Chief Executive Officer of MiWayLife chief executive officer Craig Baker said, “The vision of African Angels is for every child to reach their full potential and grow into fine South African citizens.

“This fits into our value as a life insurance company to help invest in the future by providing support for early childhood development.”

The other organisations that benefitted from the campaign were Teen ‘n Child Developer in Khayelitsha in the Western Cape and Ukwhezi Lower Primary School in Mpumalanga.
