In honour of World Cleanup Day on September 15, the GO! & Express is organising a cleanup of Bonza Bay on Saturday.
The cleanup is scheduled for 8.30 for 9am and runs until 10am.
Those interested in participating must bring along their own plastic bags and any other equipment they might need.

World Cleanup Day began in 2008 in the Republic of Estonia. The official website says approximately 4% of the Estonia population came together to help clean up their country on the day, collecting and properly disposing of any litter and illegally dumped waste.
Since then, World Cleanup Day has been organised by the Estonia-based civic organisation, Let’s Do It! World. For this year’s initiative they are hoping to involve community members from 150 countries in what their website calls “the biggest positive civic action the world has ever seen.”
In a study published in Science, an American journal, in 2015, of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), it was estimated that approximately 8-million metric tons of plastic ended up in the world’s oceans every year. Since plastic is non-biodegradable, it remains in the ocean permanently.
