NATURE’S Rest hosted a beach fun run and charity market day on Saturday to create a platform for local charity organisations to raise funds for their cause, and public awareness about the organisations.
Guardians of Hope SA was the lucky organisation that received all proceeds to them.
“The run created a platform where various charities, big and small can be granted equal opportunity to raise funds for their cause and for public awareness about these organisations;all the great work they do.
“Enthusiastic runners ensured a good outcome and also gave us very positive feedback about their running experience. We intend to continue this as an annual event that will continue to grow year on year and we already have many of the charities from this year enthusiastic about being part of the next event,” said resort manager Gré-Marr Hattingh.
Hattingh thanks all their co-sponsors that helped to make the event happen; Red Alert EMS, Red Alert Cleaning and Security for guarding and armed response and Shardlee Risk Facilitation for security officers, guarding and assisting with draws. Link FM and Wild Coast FM for assisting with broadcasting, Coca-cola for assisting with water at the hydration point, Empire Events for marketing assistance, EDP Accounting, Spargs superspar, Artistic Hair design and Slendersip for sponsoring toward prizes and hampers and LC Photography.
“A big thank you to you all, we are eager to continuously grow this event to bigger heights every year, moving forward as a community to build a stronger tomorrow for all involved”, she said.
