Floral fun at Murambi Roses this weekend

Spring is in the air, and Murambi Roses owner Barbara Allen is hoping to welcome it in style this Saturday with an event hosted at the Murambi Roses Café.

“We were trying to think of ways to get things moving again and so we thought ‘let’s do something for Spring’,” Allen said.

The day promises to be plenty of fun and will feature two workshops.

“We’ve got two speakers coming. Wimpie [Cloete], from Flower yard, is going to demonstrate how to make a flower crown and people will be able to make their own.

“Then we’re going to have The Plant Guy owner Brendan [Howard]. He’s going to be talking about growing a little vegetable garden and give advice on how to get one going,” said Allen.

The event starts at 9:15am and will run until lunch time and Allen said all necessary materials will be provided on the day.

“I will provide the flowers you’ll need to make your flower crown, which you’ll take home with you.

“Then we’ll have tea and scones, then we’re going to have Howard talking and then there’s going to be a lunch,” she said.

Booking is essential so make sure to reserve your spot as soon as possible. For more details, call 082-390-3401 or email juliacs@mweb.co.za.
