Once again, Black Friday is almost upon us. The day after the US-centric Thanksgiving holiday has become famous as a day when retail outlets offer ridiculous discounts on products which usually leads to heavy consumer traffic on the day.

Last year, we looked at the history of Black Friday so for this year, let’s focus more on the present and discuss some tips on how to make the most of your day.

The first thing on your list should be proper research. This may sound silly for just a bit of shopping but if you truly want to make your Black Friday spree, you need to know what is being sold for how much and at which stores.

Thankfully, stores usually advertise like crazy in the days leading up to Black Friday so it’s just a matter of figuring out what you want and planning your route accordingly.

Incidentally, the GO! & Express will be running it’s own Black Friday advertising special so keep an eye out.

Next, you’ll want to set yourself a budget for the day and try and stick to it. It can be easy to get swept up in all the excitement and end up spending way more than you originally intended, so having a pre-determined limit will help keep you focused.

Finally, you’ll want to make sure you get an early start. Don’t forget that you won’t be the only one shopping on Black Friday and there’s no doubt going to be longer queues than usual.

You’re going to need to play it smart if you want to beat the rush.
