The Alexander Playhouse in East London will be hosting a new performance from November 20 to 21 which, according to organiser Helena Archer, aims to provide some much needed entertainment during lockdown.
“I decided with my friend Lloy Brent that we needed to do something to relieve the tension of this lockdown.
“People are starting to want to go out now and have a bit of entertainment,” she said.
The show will involve Archer, Brent and many others performing some of their favourite songs for the enjoyment of the audience.
Local author Lori-Ann Preston will MC the event.
Tickets are R80 per person and available from Behrs Shoes in Vincent Park.
“The money is not coming to us,” said Archer.
Proceeds from the event will instead be going to East London-based charity Guardians of Hope, which cares for abandoned babies.
“Also on the ticket, we’ve asked people to bring some dog or cat food which we’ll donate to the SPCA,” Archer said.
