Exciting ELCFLA ends with historical win for Seagulls

East London Central Local Football Association concluded their 2022 League programme on Sunday October 30 at the North End Stadium.

It was deja vu for CC Lloyd- based Seagulls FC after they were crowned the Momentum Premiership champions for the third consecutive season after earning the point required against Future Stars in an exciting 1-1 draw.

It was a record fourth season’s championship win in ten years for Seagulls.

Newlands-based Napoli secured the Premiership runners-up spot in dramatic fashion, their best ever Premier League placing, after beating already relegated Pefferville United FC 2-0.

Future Stars dropped to third place, while Star of India ended a commendable fourth after beating Riverside 3-2. Di Roma FC were the other unfortunate club side to be relegated from the Premiership after a disappointing campaign.

Quigney-based Young Tigers were crowned the John Korkie sponsored championship league winners, while Parkside United, who placed second and Atlantic Spurs, who ranked third, will make a welcome return to the 2023 Premiership after earning promotion.

Scenery Park-based Millan and Gompo-based Future Boys dominated the 2022 ECLFA junior league programme.

Millan secured the James Alexander sponsored U10, Joe Hendricks Memorial U16 and Stella Esbend Memorial U18 league championships. Future Boys sealed the Ginger Love sponsored U12 and Shane Benny Memorial U14 league championships.
