Mercedes-Benz SA (MBSA) has donated seven vehicles to deserving local NPOs.

Sporting Chance Foundation, Waves For Change, African Angels Independent School, READ Educational Trust, Land of the Living, Border Cricket, and The Kidlinks each received a Mercedes Benz Vito.

Each of the NPOs was carefully chosen based on the work they do for their communities in the areas of sport, community upliftment, as well as education.

This was part of MBSA’s CSI projects to help the community by assisting various NPOs that work hard to help their communities, despite struggles with finance and resources.

MBSA CEO Andreas Brand said the values that these NPOs embody align with those of MBSA and as a company, they are especially proud to be able to assist them with these vehicles.

“These vehicles will hopefully assist these organizations with mobility and allow them to do more to help their communities.

“We will continue to support them and maintain a longstanding relationship with them,” Brand said.

The handover took place at Mercedes-Benz and representatives from each of the organizations was present on April 12.

Liaan Ali is one of the trainers at Waves for Change who has personally experienced the positive impact the organization has had on the community.

“I have seen a positive change in myself ever since I joined Waves for Change.

“I may not have gone through the full program but I have seen a full transformation of my characteristics and personal development that has happened through the work done by this organization.

“I think this donation will just help them move up and help more,” Ali said.

The project manager of Sporting Change Foundation Bradlyn Stuurman expressed his gratitude for the donation of the vehicle to the organization.

“This is such a great gesture.

“Thank you so much to Mercedes-Benz.

“This vehicle is going to help us with our mobility.

“One of our biggest problems was transport.

“We will be able to get coaches and children to and from practices and games.

“This will help us a lot because now we will be able to reach out to more schools,” Stuurman said.
