East London’s art scene is bursting with creativity for the festive season as CVD Framers opens its annual art exhibition, “A3 and Smaller” this month.
The gallery space includes 85 pieces submitted by both established and emerging artists and will be on display throughout the next three months.
With the gallery space covered floor to ceiling in these works, the wealth of talent in the East London art scene is on full display.
Additionally, two distinguished artists have had iconic cards of signature design printed.
The pieces cover a wide array of themes and subjects however every piece submitted had to conform to the scale of A3 in size, irrespective of the medium selected. This has lead to an interesting exhibition that features prints, oil and acrylic paintings, watercolours and 3D multi-media art.
Prices for A3 artworks start from R230, with prints available from R35.
Art teacher Jen Rowland has entered her works, Breath, Liberated and Inspired by Ayanda Mji, which are all oil on canvas, her favourite medium.
Each piece creatively touches on themes relating to the conflict between being confined to a idea or limitation as well as being a vessel for potential and enrichment.
