I’m Every Woman II is a dazzling celebration of powerhouse female voices, resilience, and timeless music that transcends generations.
East London’s 043 Events has set a stage at The Venue @ Hemingways on Friday for an unforgettable night of music and empowerment.
Organiser Janine Martin, working in collaboration with Simplified Management, says the company’s mission is to “alter the local landscape of entertainment” by hosting events that appeal to both young and old, while attracting nationally acclaimed artists.
“We want to create experiences that bring people together and showcase the best of SA talent right here in our city,” Martin said.
By Wednesday, the show was already 60% sold out, and the excitement continued to grow, as audiences prepared for tributes to legendary divas Whitney Houston, Beyoncé, Celine Dion, Mariah Carey, Adele and Lady Gaga. The show’s success last year led to the next round which is bigger and bolder and “promises a deeper exploration into the world of musical divas”.
Originally billed for Women’s Month, due to overwhelming demand, it has evolved into a recurring production.
“The inspiration came from a desire to celebrate the spirit and influence of women in music, whose songs have become anthems of empowerment. It’s also a tribute to everyday women who embody the same strength, grace, and courage in their daily lives,” Martin said.
The lineup features celebrated vocalists Andrea Fortuin, Karin Kortje, and Jade Engelbrecht, each bringing their own interpretation of femininity and strength to the stage.
Martin told the Go! that popular Cape Town soul singer-songwriter and producer, Fagrie Isaacs would serenade the crowd with his heartfelt performances.
“It will be classic hits, live instrumentation, and stunning performances that feel both nostalgic and new,” Martin said.
“Music has always been a unifying force, and I’m Every Woman II uses that power to amplify women’s voices.” The audience can meet the cast after the show.
