Viva Musica Ensemble is back with a concert this Saturday, just in time for Easter.
The programme ranges from the hauntingly beautiful melodies of Pie Jesu by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Ave Maria by Bach/Charles Gounod to the joyful rhythms of Handel’s La Rejouissance from the Fireworks Suite. Also included in the programme are some well-loved Easter hymns.
Grassey Buitendag and Craig Tyzack will be displaying their skills on the pipe organ.
By popular request, Grassey will be playing Highland Cathedral.
The soloist for the concert is East London soprano, Irene Kranidiotis, who will be accompanied by Lloyd Brent on piano.
Kranidiotis will be entertaining the audience with Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah as well as other favourites.
The programme is inspirational in nature and in keeping with the celebration of Easter, the highlight of the Christian calendar.
The concert takes place at First City Baptist Church, 6 Belgravia Crescent at 3pm on Saturday April 12. Limited parking will be available in the church grounds and car guards will be in attendance.
Entrance is free but there will be a collection in aid of Salem Baby Care Centre.
