Enjoy taste of country life at Bathurst show

One of the Eastern Cape’s most charming country events is set to return this month as the Bathurst Agricultural Show brings four days of agriculture, entertainment and community spirit to the historic village of Bathurst.

Hosted by the Bathurst Agricultural Society, the annual show will be held from March 26 to 29 at the Bathurst Showgrounds, drawing farmers, artisans, families and visitors from across East London, Komani and other parts of the country.

The much-loved event celebrates the region’s farming heritage while showcasing local food, crafts and rural traditions in an atmosphere where town and country come together.

Agriculture remains at the heart of the show, with livestock exhibits, judging competitions and auctions expected to attract farmers and agricultural enthusiasts.

Organisers told the Go! visitors will also have the opportunity to attend panel discussions featuring specialists sharing insights into various aspects of farming and rural development.

Beyond the agricultural focus, the event promises plenty of entertainment and activities.

Spectacular arena demonstrations are set to thrill crowds, while the Cask & Cuisine Marquee will offer an elegant tasting experience featuring regional wines, craft beverages and artisanal food.

The show will also feature artisan markets where visitors can browse handmade goods and locally produced items, while a dedicated Kidz Zone will ensure younger guests have their own space filled with games, activities and entertainment.

With colourful characters, lively arena action and vibrant rural traditions, organisers say the show offers countless moments for visitors to capture the unique spirit of country life.
