Metro FM Awards song of the year winner Betusile Mcinga was recently announced as the brand ambassador for Buffalo Toyota.

The Ngena Noah hitmaker was chosen due to his rising popularity, not only in the music industry but also in the various communities of the Eastern Cape.

Mcinga expressed his joy and excitement with being associated with the Toyota brand.

“I am very happy about this opportunity. I see this as a breakthrough in my career.

“I have been an ambassador for other companies before, but this is the first time Igetto work with a big brand like this.

“This opportunity has come at the right time for me because now I will be more mobile and reach far places with the work that I do with my foundation,” Mcinga said.

Buffalo Toyota spokesperson Lwandy Ngebe explained why Mcinga was the perfect person to represent the Toyota Brand.

“In recognising his musical excellence and the positive role he continues to play, the company has chosen him as one of its brand ambassadors.

“Mcinga’s music has become a symbol of hope for millions of South Africans.

“The company strongly believes that his achievements will inspire many young aspiring musicians to continue to dream,” Ngebe said.

This position will give Mcinga access to a new car for his personal and business use. He will also represent the brand in their social responsibilities.

Mcinga aims to travel the Eastern Cape in search of new talent in the music industry, specifically gospel music.

“I want to focus on inspiring up-and-coming local artists.

“I have new music coming and more features with other artists, especially secular music.

“I think it is significant to have won the award for song of the year with a gospel song because that is unusual. But I want to change that narrative and collaborate with artists from other genres.

“From July to August, I will be searching for talent with a talent show, this will be a build up to the annual OR Tambo Gospel Music Festival later this year,” Mcinga said.

Buffalo Toyota has been helping the East London community for years.

“We have worked with Clean Slate, an NGO that works with ex-offenders, to rehabilitate them back into society.

“We have also assisted Helping Those in Need, an orphanage, as well as Rehab, a rehabilitation centre for persons with disabilities. We give back to the community that supports us,” Ngebe said.
