Webb had originally planned to run the Buffs Marathon, which traditionally takes place on the last Sunday of February or the first Sunday in March, as part of the fundraiser but the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic had forced the marathon to be cancelled.

This didn’t deter Webb, however, and he decided run the route anyway, seconded by his wife and was joined by support runners Cristin Flynn and Kuda Joe.

He managed to run the 42km distance from Macleantown to the Buffs Club in East London in a time of 3.54 hours and overall, a total of R17,000 was raised through donations.

Not one to rest on his laurels, Webb already has his next project lined up.

He will be partnering with CyfaDance Community Development Project founder and Local Heroes 2018 finalist Benjamin Rexana.

Rexana has started delivering dog food around Mdantsane on bicycle, and managed to feed over 60 dogs this way last weekend.

Webb will be joining forces with Rexana on Sunday to organise an Awareness Drive and educational talk on Facebook Live, and the pair are calling on residents to assist by donating dog food or cash.

Food can be dropped off at Buffalo Toyota and will go to Rexana, who will then distribute it to animals in need.

Cash donations can be made to the following account:
