WELL DONE: Caltex Western Motors staff, with front centre, Caltex Eastern Cape Marketer CEO Clive Berlyn, celebrate their award

“This award is really about giving recognition to a tremendous team effort as each and every one on this team had a role to play, from the cleaner to the admin staff to the cashier, supervisor and lastly, but most importantly the customer service attendant (CSA)”

TEAMWORK PROVIDED local Vincent retailer, Caltex Western Motors, the edge over more than 30 retailers when it walked away with the coveted Caltex Eastern Cape Forecourt of the Year award : Large Site category on November 24.

Wayne Osborne of Western Motors, who received the award on behalf of the dealership – which comes with prize money of R75 000 – said, “I am so proud of this team, their consistent performance has been rewarded, thank you to the full team for their commitment and dedication to Western Motors and the Caltex Brand.”

Caltex Eastern Cape Marketer CEO Clive Berlyn lauded the well-established retailer and team for their continual efforts and contribution to growing the Caltex brand and service levels in the Eastern Cape since 2012.

“This award is really about giving recognition to a tremendous team effort as each and every one on this team had a role to play, from the cleaner to the admin staff to the cashier, supervisor and lastly, but most importantly the customer service attendant (CSA). These CSAs are the human face of the Caltex brand as they are the ones interacting with the customers daily come rain or shine,” Berlyn said.

He added that Western Motors will ensure that the entire R75 000 will go to the team, with everyone getting a share.

The intensive search kicked off in May with 100 Caltex sites battling it out for the honour of being named one of the top sites in either the large, medium or small site categories. The judges looked for teams that had that extra spark, and demonstrated “gees” by working together to provide their customers that special “Caltex experience”. Other criteria included whether the customer service attendant (CSA) team were all wearing their full uniforms, customer interaction, compliance issues as the cleanliness of the forecourts.

To ensure that this was not a one-sided affair a social media competition kicked off at the same time and customers were invited to vote for their favourite service station. Western Motors received by far the most rave reviews over the past few months.
