THE storm that has and is currently raging through the Western Cape and has caused havoc along the Garden Route, will fortunately not affect the Eastern Cape.

With gail force winds, a fire along the N2 between Plettenberg Bay and Knysna is spreading and has caused the road to be closed.
“Another huge fire recently broke out in Humansdorp due to the North Westerly winds,” said Weather SA spokesman, Garth Sampson.
He said that the Eastern Cape can expect strong winds, but no major rainfall or sea swells are expected. Areas such as Barkley East and Elliot can expect significant temperature drops, with possible snow fall to come.
“We’ll have strong winds here in the Eastern Cape, but nothing to write home about,” said Sampson.
