VARIOUS local churches and organisations have come together to present youngsters in East London with their first Youth Week – a week filled with lots of fun and laughter.
Youth Week is taking place from Monday to Friday next week, every evening from 6pm to 9pm in the main auditorium at the Abbotsford Christian Centre.
The week is dedicated to encouraging and entertaining the youth through various activities such as volleyball, pool, foosball, table tennis and indoor soccer, to name but a few.
There will also be live music and a short inspirational message every night.
“The holidays are long, so we decided to create a space where the youth can go that’s safe and fun and won’t cost them anything,” co-organiser Jennifer Lieberum said.
“We would like participants to feel like they’re among family and friends. We want them to feel relaxed and at home and to just enjoy themselves.”
The main organisers include Christian Centre Abbotsford, Nahoon Methodist, Crossways, St Nicks, Cambridge Community Church, Stirling Worship Centre, Youth for Christ and Scripture Union.
“There are so many churches supporting this event; It is a real team effort!” Lieberum enthused.
Pastors and parents have volunteered their time to facilitate the activities and proceedings every evening and will ensure the safety and enjoyment of everyone present.
All youngsters from the age of 12 years old and upwards are invited to attend this fun and happy event.
There is no cost, but coffee and tuck shop facilities will be available.
