SELBORNIANS Old Boys’ Cricket Club hosted Super Eagles Cricket Club in a thrilling two-day match in Baysville on Saturday and Sunday.
The Old Boys elected to bat first on Saturday, scoring 194 all out. Old Boys’ Luke Le Marquand, made the Eagles sweat by hitting 121, while the Eagles managed 123 runs and nine wickets.
Marquand took two wickets for 18 runs in six overs, Bryan Voke took two wickets for 17 runs in six overs and Dave Stewert took two wickets for 20 runs in five overs.
On Sunday the Eagles opted to bat first, but were bowled out for 86 runs. Tuim Niemand took five wickets in five overs for one run. The Old Boys won the game by 11 overs with two wickets with Phil Badenhorst making 40 not out.
This weekend the league will continue with a two-day match on Saturday and Sunday. Selbornian Old Boys will face Buffalo Cricket Club at the Old Boys’ Club in Baysville and the Hamilton Cricket Club will host Bohemians Cricket Club.
The Super Eagles Cricket Club will travel to King William’s Town where they will face Good Hope Cricket
