Immaculate Conception Catholic Church will a host a fund raising event on October 10 in a bid to buy new instruments for their church band. The funds will also go towards maintaining their current instruments.
Cape Town band Joedhouse are the crowd pullers for the event.
Church band member Darian Hendricks said the band arranges a fundraiser every year to support church music ministry.
“We’re very excited to bring Joedhouse to East London. They bring a fresh sound and have played to packed audiences wherever they have performed in Cape Town and around SA,” Hendricks said.
Joedhouse is no stranger to the city. The GO! previously reported that the band was in East London in 2016 to help raise funds for Parkside Primary School (“SA band in Guild gig to help pupils”, GO! & Express, December 1 2016).
