As part of their 21-year anniversary celebrations, MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet has launched their “21 Years of Giving Back” campaign, which aims to give R2.1m to 21 different beneficiaries.
Supporters have until the end of February to nominate any South African charitable organisation. The 21 winners will be announced in May and will each receive R100,000.

“We want to encourage our supporters to also consider bringing local, smaller organisations doing heroic work in their communities into the fold and for whom the giveaway of R100k can make a considerable difference,” MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet general manager Pieter Twine said.
Since its inception, MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet has managed to raise more than over R500m for various schools, charities, and environmental causes across the country. In the last fiscal year alone, MySchool MyVillage MyPlanet raised more than over R83m.
There are currently 1,200,000 active card-holders involved in the programme – 890,000 donating to MySchool, 102,000 donating to MyVillage, and 137,000 donating to MyPlanet.
“The amounts raised are a true testament to what happens when people collaborate and the impact that can be achieved when many people’s contributions collectively provide support to causes.
“The funds raised through the programme can play an important role in enabling MyVillage and MyPlanet organisations to pay their monthly bills or even provide them with opportunities to scale up their services or start new, much-needed projects,” Twine said.
