Well-known South African blues musician Dan Patlansky will be bringing his latest show, Duo Electric, to Legends Showcase on April 18 in support of the Cornerstone Anti Human Trafficking Institute (CAHTI) and #ArtistsAgainstSlavery.
CAHTI was established in 2018 and aims to protect and advance the rights of human trafficking survivors, as well as raise awareness about the issue.
This is Patlansky’s first collaboration with CAHTI and but he said he “really believed in their cause”.
Patlansksy first got into music at a young age.
“Growing up, my parents listened to music constantly, so I would say the love of music came from them. It’s always been a massive part of my life,” he said.
It was his parents who also convinced him to take up blues as his genre of choice.
“The type of music my parents constantly played was the blues and music within the blues realm.
“It felt like the most natural form of music to play, I felt like I knew it already,” said Patlanksky.
The show is scheduled to start at 8pm and tickets are R150 per person. Bookings can be made online.
