BUFFALO City Tvet College was packed with young talent from East London and the surrounding areas hoping to showcase their talent at the second annual Arts Imbizo Festival on Saturday.

“Our aim is to bring the youth and communities together in the name of art and entertainment.

“We wanted to give the young people an opportunity to showcase their talent on a bigger platform,” said organiser Alutha Tutu.

“We saw that there are a lot of events happening in East London but there’s few that cater for strictly hip-hop, poetry, drama, stalls, local bands etc.

“So the goal was to create an atmosphere where artists can be in one place to perform, have drinks, share good vibes, good food and interact with each other,” he said.

The festival included hip hop, dance hall and poetry live performances by artists from all over South Africa.

The event was hosted by actor Ayanda Daweti, known for his role as Chumani Langa in Scandal.

“As a growing event We need more financial muscle to make the event bigger and better and we’d like to invite more stakeholders to grow the event and the culture,” Tutu said.
