The SA government held a memorial service for late amaXhosa king Mpendulo Calvin Zwelonke Sigcawu at the Abbotsford Christian Centre on Wednesday.

King Sigcawu passed away on the morning of Thursday November 14 and will be buried at Nqadu Great Place in Willowvale on Friday.
President Cyril Ramaphosa has declared that the king will be honoured with a Special Official Funeral Category 1 with military honours and that the national flag shall fly at half-mast at every flag station throughout the country until King Sigcawu is laid to rest.
The amaXhosa kingdom has also declared a full year’s mourning, with initiations and other traditional ceremonies declared cancelled until it is complete.
