The Eastern Cape Super 14 Rugby Tournament entered its third round of games last Saturday, with Mdantsane-based Swallows Rugby Club defeating Port Elizabeth’s Gardens 21-18 at the Derrick Ferreira Stadium. Swallows head coach Ntando Kebe said he was proud of how his team had played throughout the 80 minutes of the game. “The boys capitalised mostly on their mistakes and our defense was on point.
“The other side had a sterling attacking side, as they put pressure on,” Kebe said. The biggest problem his team had were the line-outs, Kebe said. “Our ruck and line-outs were a bit scrappy, but there is always room for improvement.
“Our dream as the team is to reach the final, and lifting the trophy. “We have to remain focused and take on whatever challenge is presented to the us.”
