Dam levels across the Eastern Cape saw an overall drop this week to 50.9%, as of August 17.
The Rooikrans was the worst hit dam, dropping two whole points to 78.1% this week.
Close behind was the Nahoon Dam, with its level dropping to 47.8% from last week’s 48.6%.
The Gubu Dam only dropped a little, down 0.7 points to 65.2%.
Both the Bridle Drift and Laing dams saw no change in their levels.
Both dams currently sit at 42.9% and 100.5% respectively.
Once again, the Wriggleswade Dam is the hardest hit.
It dropped a further six points and is at a dangerously low level of 15.3%.
Residents are reminded to conserve water wherever possible as the country is still in the grips of a drought.
