What services do you offer?
I offer hair services for men, women and children. These services include cutting, colouring and styling. I also offer up-styles for matric dances and weddings.
When did your business start? What inspired you to start this business venture?
As a young schoolgirl, I always dreamt about becoming a hairdresser. The joy and happiness that I see once I’ve done a client’s hair is the main reason why I love doing what I do.
Do you have any official hairdressing experience? What experience do you think is necessary for this line of work?
I did my trade test in Bloemfontein and have been in the hair industry for seven years. A hairstylist needs to be dedicated as it requires long hours and patience.
How many people do you currently work with?
I am currently renting a chair at Rock Paper Scissors, which is based in Berea and I work alongside three other hairstylists.
What do you think makes your business stand out from other similar businesses in the area?
I am always willing to go the extra mile for each and every client and I always make sure that they always receive superb service and that they are happy with their hair before they leave.
What are some of the goals that you are working towards?
I’m hoping I can open my own hair salon someday, where I can still offer my clients the most spectacular services.
Who is your target market?
I don’t have a specific target market for my business. I cater for both young and old.
What advice do you have for anyone interested in starting their own business?
My advice would be to never give up because the hair industry can become tough at times, but the end result is always worth it.
