In a celebration of style, creativity, and innovation, the eighth annual East London Fashion Week (ELFW) 2023 is poised to dazzle fashion enthusiasts once again. Mark your calendars for Saturday October 28, as the Ann Bryant Art Gallery transforms into a mesmerising runway, where fashion meets art.

Siyanda Nela, the visionary fashion designer behind this event, has consistently nurtured local talent through ELFW.

Over the years, this annual showcase has emerged as a vital launchpad for designers, providing them with a canvas to paint their sartorial dreams and connect with a wider audience.

Since its inception in 2015, ELFW has become a nurturing cocoon for burgeoning designers, fostering their growth and helping them establish their presence in the fashion industry. This year, the event promises to be nothing short of spectacular, under the captivating theme, ‘Fashion Meets Art’.

Prepare to be awed by the genius of four outstanding designers: Thakie Mhlomi, Luyolo Dlikilili, Yolani Mlawuti, and Iets Sandiswa Bunwana.

Each one brings a distinct flair and an exquisite vision to the runway, ensuring a diverse range of designs to tantalize your fashion senses.

Nela said: “The designers all have different styles of design and target markets. This show is going to be better because the designers have evolved and grown both personally and in their style of work.”

More than just a fashion show, ELFW is a dedication to empowering local designers, encouraging the growth of sustainable businesses, and fostering the growth of the Eastern Cape’s fashion industry.

It is a testament to the region’s creative prowess.

Bunwana, has been a professional fashion maestro for a decade. She’s thrilled to unveil her bridal and evening wear designs at ELFW, a platform she hasn’t graced for six years.

Bunwana’s creations embrace the diverse beauty of the female form in all its shapes and sizes.

“I am inspired by the need to be different, and I am driven by originality and setting trends.

“This year I plan on showcasing a very different side to my work; a more artistic and elegant yet daring side.”

As the runway lights up with unparalleled fashion, the ELFW will also be accompanied by electrifying performances by Sizzle and Slogan.

Tickets from Computicket cost R200 per person.
