Vincent Park celebrates birthday with two awards

FUN SHOPPING: Part of Vincent Park Shopping Centre’s colourful birthday campaign featuring a ’disco glam’ theme paying homage to the ’70s, the era in which the centre was established.

Vincent Park Shopping Centre is celebrating having received two Footprint Marketing Awards recently.

Shopping centres across the country also received awards.

Vincent Park, the only mall in the Eastern Cape to feature in the nominations, received two bronze awards in the sales promotion and events category, as well as the visual merchandising category in recognition of its Celebrating 50 Years With You birthday campaign this month.

The annual awards recognise exceptional shopping centres for their marketing, innovation and creative achievements, as well as economic success in the property industry.

The mall was praised for its birthday celebrations that featured a ’disco glam’ theme that paid homage to the ’70s, the era in which the centre was established.

This was achieved with the use of eight different disco glam, birthday-themed ‘pops’ of fun throughout the mall, and an array of interactive photo-opportunity installations that encouraged shoppers to linger longer and make the celebration their own.

Shoppers enjoyed the photo booths, the suspended disco balls, a lollipop celebration, a cake smash, rainbow stairs and the digital marketing.

The mall’s marketing manager, Mariaan Hartwig, said it was rewarding to see shoppers engage with the campaign, and that the mall had been recognised with two awards.

“Being recognised nationally and sharing the stage with South Africa’s other leading malls is a great honour. Vincent Park was also the only mall in the Eastern Cape to receive an award at this year’s event,” said Hartwig.

“This speaks to the innovation and quality of our marketing campaigns and the strategic impact these efforts bring to the business.”
