Round seven of the Border Karting Championship was held in sunny conditions at the East London Grand Prix circuit on October 12.
Two new karters made their 2024 debuts; Jake Houzet in Mini four-strokes and Colby Preston in junior four-strokes.
In 125 clubmans two-strokes, Luke Rens overcame teething issues in practice and qualifying to bounce back to take first in all three heats. Rens was also deservedly driver of the day. Reeno Swanepoel showed good pace to be second overall. Heath Vallance was third.
In 125 junior clubmans, Caleb Odendaal made a welcome return to the class, taking first overall. Lincoln Randall was second overall.
In junior four-strokes, Akanya Mabusela from Mthatha took his first overall win for the day, in his rookie year. In four-strokes seniors, Adrian de Coning and in four-stroke masters, Andrew van der Westhuizen took the overall wins for the day.
