
The 2025 Buffalo City Surf Riders Summer Series concluded in style this past weekend, with Nahoon Beach serving as the perfect backdrop for a thrilling day of surfing. The event showcased the best of the region’s young talent, with competitors from various age groups giving it their all.
New faces and rising stars stole the show, promising a bright future for surfing in Buffalo City. At the prize-giving, series winners were awarded custom towels, courtesy of Samantha Eleftheriou from Hera Sports Wear.
In the U8 girls’ category, Leah Eleftheriou claimed first place, followed by Zaliha Bhyat and Becca Seymour.
Kyle van den Berg dominated the U8 boys, ahead of Archer Gravett and Connor Mackey.
Nicole Eleftheriou stood out in the U10 girls, while Nathan Strydom topped the U10 boys, with tight competition across both divisions. Bella Johnson shone in the U12 girls, and Kholo Langa led the pack in the U12 boys.
As the competition heated up in the older categories, Mahle Ntsebeza impressed with her victory in the U14 girls, while Joshua Crawford showcased incredible skill to win the U14 boys.
Taylor Emslie triumphed in the U16 girls, and Carl Wiersma took the top spot in the U16 boys. Finally, in the U18 boys, David Emslie closed the series on a high note, securing first place in the division.
