Clarendon High School’s highly anticipated production of Beauty & The Beast is set to take the stage at The Guild Theatre next week, from April 10-12.
Zenande Mquqo, who plays the lead role, is sure to captivate audiences with her magical stage presence. She shares her experience behind the scenes:
What has been the most rewarding part of being in this production?
Watching the entire cast, backstage crew, tech team, and band grow and improve. Each rehearsal brings us closer to an incredible performance!
What has been the most amusing moment?
When Ms Daines told us to stop acting like we were in Days of Our Lives or The Bold and the Beautiful, then proceeded to do hilarious impressions of our acting! Another highlight has been cast members doing impressions of each other’s characters.
What do you hope the audience takes away from this production?
That true love is about looking beyond superficial qualities. Beauty & The Beast also pays tribute to the women throughout history who have been reduced to just their looks. We hope it inspires audiences to recognise these societal flaws and work toward positive change.
Tickets are available via Computicket.
