An afternoon of classics with city’s leading ensemble

Forget about the long, cold days of winter and spend an afternoon enjoying a wide variety of music presented by Viva Musica Ensemble this Saturday at the Nahoon Methodist Church in aid of vulnerable animals in the city.

The show kicks off at 3pm on  June 28 and includes light classics like Schubert’s beautiful, soothing Serenade and Grieg’s very lively Wedding Day at Troldhaugen. The audience will also take a trip down memory lane with a Frank Sinatra medley, Those were the Days by Mary Hopkin and The End of the World by Skeeter Davis. The magic of the movies has also been included with pieces from The Lion King and theme from The Pink Panther because who can ever forget the antics of Peter Sellers?

The audience can look forward not only to performances by Viva Musica Ensemble but also to piano duets, wind and recorder ensembles and string groups.

The guest artist is the highly talented and well known East Londoner, Lloy Brent, who will perform her magic on the piano.

She will be playing Amour and My Way, as well as other pieces.

The concert takes place at the Nahoon Methodist Church in Kennington Road, Nahoon.

While there is no entry fee, a collection will be taken in aid of The Furry Godmother Township & Squatter Camp Outreach and car guards will be in attendance.
