Want a piece of Gonubie this Christmas?
Try a soulful artwork among many created by 12 Gonubie artists exhibiting in a gallery between Tasty Creations and New Seasons shops in Schwedhelm Centre, Gonubie Main Road.
There are works from flowers to landscape which could make an excellent gift this festive season, exhibition co-ordinator and artist Karen Hannan said.
Pieces have been contributed by Marion Waymouth, Des Juta, Wayne Blom, Jen Rowland, Margo Brassil, Moekie Manthe, Lorna Manthe, Stella Wills, Des Gagiano, Karen de Lange, Wendy Young and Holly Eve Wild.
Themes ranged from landscapes and seascapes including the Gonubie-slipway to linx, hornbill, portraits one of a famous Gonubie homeless man, and a young girl.
Mediums were oil, pastel and acrylic.
Prices ranged from R450 to R9,000.
The artists enjoyed a happy opening on Saturday evening which was attended by 60 art lovers.
They were blown away by the talent in Gonubie, the beautiful work and the amount of effort and dedication from the artists.
Hannah said: “I just want to promote our local talent which is so lekker — and the standard of work is so high.”
The show runs to December 23, from 10.30am to 5.30pm.
