In celebration of World Read Aloud Day, eight enthusiastic library monitresses from Clarendon High School for Girls visited the Carel du Toit Centre in East London, spreading the joy of reading and the magic of storytelling.
The visit saw the Clarendon pupils captivating young listeners through animated storytelling, interactive reading sessions and engaging activities that brought each story vividly to life. Laughter echoed through the room as the children responded with excitement, curiosity and bright smiles.
More than just a reading session, the initiative created meaningful connections, highlighting the power of books to inspire imagination, foster communication and build confidence. The pupils’ energy and passion transformed the morning into a memorable experience for everyone involved.
