Clarendon High School for Girls played host to long-time rivals Stirling High during a vibrant and competitive home derby over the weekend.
The much-anticipated annual fixture brought together players, supporters and staff for a weekend filled with energy, school spirit and high-quality competition across multiple sporting and cultural codes.
The Clarendon campus came alive as both schools showcased their talent, determination, and commitment to excellence.
Pupils from both schools competed at a high level, demonstrating commendable sportsmanship, reinforcing the strong and enduring relationship between the two Eastern Cape schools.
One of the standout highlights of the weekend came from Clarendon’s senior debating team, who delivered an exceptional performance.
Displaying confidence, sharp, critical thinking and refined public speaking abilities, the team secured a convincing victory over their Stirling counterparts.
Adding to the achievement, Clarendon pupil Zenande Mquqo was named best senior individual speaker.
Her recognition reflected her outstanding debating skills and commanding presence, earning praise from adjudicators and spectators alike.
The derby proved to be more than just a competition, serving as a celebration of holistic development.
