Rather than settling for traditional nine-to-five jobs, two young Cambridge women took a leap of faith and turned their love for cooking into a business.
Today, their growing venture is helping busy people enjoy fresh, home-cooked meals without the hassle of spending hours in the kitchen.
Business partners Shante Bhana, 27, and her best friend, Jade Alexander, 28, have transformed their love for cooking into a growing local food business.
Though still in its early stages, the venture has shown steady growth, fuelled by word of mouth and strong support from the local community.
What began as preparing healthy, home-cooked meals has evolved into a service offering weekly meal prep options and delivery services.
“Every week brings new customers, and seeing returning clients has been one of the biggest blessings,” Bhana said.
The idea for the business was born out of Bhana’s passion for cooking and her desire to make healthy eating more accessible.
She noticed that many people wanted to eat well but often lacked the time or energy to prepare balanced meals.
“I’ve always loved cooking and caring for people through food. The look on people’s faces when they enjoy a meal is one of my favourite moments,” she said.
“I wanted to make healthy eating more convenient, affordable and enjoyable while doing something I genuinely love.”
She later brought Alexander on board, turning the venture into a shared journey.
“We also grew tired of the rat race of only knowing how to work for a boss and just about making ends meet every month,” Bhana said.
“Taking that first step was scary, but I trusted God and we decided to give it a try.”
The duo said the journey had been one of constant learning, growth and improvement, with each week bringing new opportunities to refine their offering.
Their meals stand out for their freshness, flavour and homely touch.
With a focus on balanced nutrition, they aim to create dishes that combine protein, vegetables and carbohydrates, while offering enough variety to keep customers coming back.
Among their most popular menu items are chicken meal prep dishes, including a BBQ chicken Gatsby served on a homemade roll, and a BBQ chicken pasta, both of which have become firm customer favourites.
Their target market includes parents, busy professionals, students and fitness enthusiasts — anyone looking for convenient, home-cooked meals without the stress of daily cooking.
The response, they said, had been overwhelmingly positive, with many customers returning for both the quality and convenience.
Maintaining consistency remains a top priority. Meals are prepared fresh using quality ingredients.
“We treat every order as if we’re preparing it for our own families because customers deserve the very best,” Bhana said.
Looking ahead, they hope to expand their offerings while maintaining the personal touch that defines their brand.
Their goals include growing their meal prep services, exploring catering and corporate opportunities, and eventually creating employment within the community.
Customers can choose between collection and delivery, making the service convenient for a range of lifestyles. Orders can be placed by contacting 079-236-7932.
The two expressed their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who had supported their journey so far.
“Every order, recommendation and kind word has helped us grow. Above all, we give God all the glory. None of this would be possible without His guidance, provision and grace,” Bhana said.
