One-stop event perfect for brides

FOR all blushing brides-to-be, The Bridal Fair at the East London Golf Club this weekend is the perfect event for you.

From dresses to decor, visitors can indulge in all the beautiful details to make their special day as spectacular as they imagine it.

The fair will take place on Saturday from 10am to 4pm, with fashion shows at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

This year, the fashion shows will take place in East London’s only glass tent, showcasing an array of beautiful dresses, from ball gowns to mermaid styles.

A percentage of the R25 entry fee will go to Masithethe Counselling Services (formerly LifeLine/Childline).

“The Bridal Fair is not only for brides-to- be as there are a number of stalls that cater for all occasions, but people can expect to see bridal gowns, cakes, stationery, jewellery and décor,” said one of the organisers, EL Golf Club food and beverage manager, Lindy Lottering.

“Our main aim is to market our venues but also give local businesses and the public an opportunity to meet one another.”

This is the third Bridal Fair at the golf club that East London will be lucky enough to see and the event keeps growing from strength to strength; from 35 stalls three years ago to a whopping 55 stalls this year.

“Last year, we had 700 people through our doors,” assistant food and beverage manager, Kate Scott said.

There will be a lucky draw to win a free draped venue at the main clubhouse for anyone who enters the competition at the East London Golf Club stall on the day.

This will take place at the end of the day, after the last fashion show. Other stalls will also hold various competitions.

Food and beverages will be for sale.

“For the bride-to-be it is a great opportunity to see what East London has to offer under one roof.

“After visiting our bridal fair, the bride-to-be will be better-equipped to plan her special day,” Lottering said.
