MARION and Matthew Peake are going out of their way to make sure that those who are hungry are fed, not just physically but spiritually as well.
The couple has an NPO called “Helping Those In Need” that feeds 18 families and homeless people in East London.
Marion who stopped working to focus on serving the people, said they cannot just give people food, but they saw it fit to also feed them the word of God. They have partnered with Stirling Presbyterian Church and God Adventure to help pray for families who need prayers.
“We only started two-and- a-half-months ago, but the Lord has been so faithful, it is difficult to explain, really,” she said.

As much as they get donations from the public, sometimes they have to use their own money to continue with the work they have started.
Last week they needed fuel to be able to deliver the food to the families and a Good Samaritan came to the rescue.
“The most amazing part about this is seeing the smiles on the [faces of the] little ones when they see us coming. It makes it all worthwhile,” said Matthew.
Erika Foreman said the Peakes were just like the family they never had and said the meals Marion and Matthew provide had made a huge difference in their lives. “We are so grateful to them,” said Foreman.
Glenda Goold who lives with her two adult sons, said she was grateful for everything the Peakes were doing to help them out. Matthew said they were just trying to bring light to the dark areas of people’s lives. “We are not a feeding scheme. We care about the people, this is why we have built these relationships,” he said.
