King girls ‘playing’ towards netball league

THE King William’s Town girls’ teams gathered at the Victoria Grounds to take each other on in netball matches last Saturday.

The matches were held with the aim to start a netball league in King William’s Town soon, according to Tigers netball club captain Nolukholo Mjekula, who is also the spokeswoman of the planned netball league.

Tigers, from Masele location, will be joined by Home Sweepers from Kwalini, Phakamisa Crusaders and Ginsberg Aloes.

She said they started last Saturday to play friendly matches and they invited other local teams to participate and see how a league might be run.

Mjekula said the league matches would be played on a Saturday.

The results of the matches played last Saturday are:

Ginsberg Aloes v Home Sweepers 10-5;

Phakamisa Crusaders v Tigers 25-15;

Home Sweepers v Phakamisa Crusaders 2-15;

Tigers v Ginsberg Aloes 20-5.
