Clothes to warm Breidbach
CHRISTMAS came early and unexpected for a group of needy people in Breidbach with a donation of clothing bringing smiles last Friday afternoon.
Lions King William’s Town members Peter Moses and Desmond Coetzee made a surprise visit to a group of needy people and handed boxes of clothing to the excitement of the beneficiaries.
“The clothing, consisting of winter wear, was donated by King Lions Club members for distribution among the poor and needy people,” Moses said.
The beneficiaries were over the moon with the gesture and could not stop praising the Lions Club for their kindness. “We are already in winter and the warm clothes just come at the perfect time,” Heather Stoffels said.
Imogen Vermaak said: “It all came unexpectedly and I will always remember today for the clothing that I was able to receive.”
Senior citizen Noebie Minnie thanked the Lions for thinking of them after receiving her clothes.
“The clothes are as good as new and would definitely help us against this cold winter days, so I am indeed grateful for what you have been doing for us today,” Minnie said.
Coetzee said there are many families in their communities who are finding it extremely difficult to put even food on the table and he is confident that the contribution of clothing will bring relief to their lives.
“We handed out food to more than 250 needy people during our soup kitchen at the clinic yesterday and saw the need after people was standing in the queue with only T-shirts in the cold.
“So I am thankful for this much-needed donation of clothes to our poor people and thankful that we as the Lions are always striving in bringing chance to their lives,” Coetzee said.
