BORN and raised in East London, Dr Alpesh Jeewa has opened up his own practice, offering quality and affordable dentistry.
Inspired by generations of family-owned businesses, Dr Jeewa followed in the footsteps of his great grandfather, grandfather and father.
After a challenging five-year course and receiving his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree (BchD) from the University of the Western Cape (UWC), Dr Jeewa returned to East London where he spent some time in Frere Hospital’s maxillo facial department where he gained first-hand experience.
The young dental surgeon put everything he had into establishing his own practice, aptly named Dhana Medi-care, after his grandfather.
After four months of hard work, Dhana Medi-care was established on Queen Street in Cambridge, the same property which once housed Jay Dee Motors, his father’s Engen Garage.
“My father was a very dedicated motor mechanic and my mother administered the business really well. Opening up my own practice has been challenging and I hope it will grow in the years to come,” former Selborne pupil Jeewa said.
Having recently completed courses in Basic Surgical Skills recognised by the Royal College of Surgeons as well as two advanced courses in Life Support with Dynamic Emergency Medical Services, Jeewa has an impressive skill-set.
Jeewa is also aiming to specialise as a maxillo-facial surgeon or orthodontist in the future.
Though ambitious, Jeewa is a humble dental surgeon offering very affordable, hygienic and friendly services, ranging from simple fillings and root canals to surgical extractions, and orthodontic devices.
