Reel in big prizes at second Rock n Surf

Cast a line at Rock n Surf

THIS Saturday, the Border Blacktips RASSPL (Rock and Surf Super Pro League) team will be hosting their second Rock n Surf angling competition of the season along the beautiful East Coast Resorts.

SOMETHING FISHY: Mfundeni Chonco took part in the Kidds Beach Rock and Surf Super Pro League competition last month. The second competition will be at the East Coast Resorts

There will be loads of cash prizes, as well as other awesome prizes, with R1000 cash going to the heaviest barbel, blacktail and sandshark making that R3000 for the easiest fish to catch along our coastline – so everyone stands an equal chance of walking away with some decent money in their pockets.

Anyone can enter any RASSPL event, no strings attached, so get to Bilimoria Fishing Tackle stores and Quality Baits in the SBDC complex to purchase your competition tickets now. Tickets are R100 for visitors, R50 for members and free for under-14s.

All paid members stand a chance of winning a Shimano Saragosa 10000 SW reel worth a staggering R4500. All you have to do is pay your annual subs of R400 on or before 7am on Saturday and you are in the running for this amazing prize provided you catch a shad of 42cm or more.

The heaviest shad of more than 42cm wins this member prize on the day.

“Remember, we are strictly a 100% catch-and-release club, so everything must be released safely. Please ask about our rules and regulations, including measuring procedures, at any of the registrations and we will gladly assist,” Border Blacktips spokesman Shane Smit said.

Register today for this East Coast Resorts competition with Sharon Miles today from 2pm at Chelsea Square B&B in Selborne. Otherwise register on Saturday at the Crossways service station from 5.30am with John Frost.

Anglers wanting to become a paid member can also pay their subs at both of these registrations. The competition starts at 7am with all scorecards to be handed in by no later than 3.30pm to our scorers at Cefane Holiday Resort.

The fishing area for this competition is from Gonubie River Mouth to Kwenugha River which is 1km east of Cefane River. The prize-giving will follow as soon as all scores are finalised, normally commencing at 4pm.
