Link FM helps to warm body and soul at daycare centre

THE Rising Sun Daycare Centre has received an outpouring of generosity from the East London community over the past few months.

Rising Sun continues to receive much-needed support.

After winning the For Good Inspiration Awards last month, receiving a prize of about R75000, they also got R10000 from an anonymous donor and Erik Joubert offered to fit a kitchen in at the centre.

Recently, Link FM, supporters of Rising Sun Daycare from the start, donated 30 beanies, scarves and pairs of gloves for the needy children at the centre.

“It was just a quick call to listeners to donate any money they could spare. We just wanted to get some items as quickly as possible to keep the kids warm this winter,” station manager Titch Wild said.

Link FM listeners were quick to respond, and after purchasing the warm items of clothing, Link FM had leftover cash which was also donated to Rising Sun.

“I am so grateful, Everyone has been so good to us,” said an overwhelmed Nozi Mswi, who runs the daycare centre.
